He was an International Master, Honored Trainer of the USSR, Russia and Georgia, and FIDE Senior Trainer. He was rightly considered one of the best trainers in the world. Several of his students became strong grandmasters: S. Dolmatov, A. Yusupov, A. Dreev, V. Zvjagintsev, E. Inarkiev, among others. Mark Dvoretsky is also an extremely successful author.
