When designing this lamp, Bent Karlby was inspired by a striking hat worn by Swedish Hollywood star Greta Garbo in her 1939 film Ninotchka. The organic structure, with its asymmetrical draping, provides functional and direct downward light as well as diffused upward ambient light.
