Saxony, Kingdom. A Silver Life Saving Medal, C.1910 Hold the medal bed in lightly(Medaillen fr Lebensrettung). Instituted on 18 May 1831. Type VIII. (1905 1918 Issue). A round silver medal, the obverse centre presents the right facing portrait of Friedrich August, surrounded by the inscription FRIEDRICH AUGUST KNIG VON SACHSEN, the reverse centre presents the three line inscription FR LEBENS RETTUNG (FOR LIFE SAVING), bordered by a dense oak leaf wreath, measuring 35. 53 mm in diameter, on loop for suspension from period original
