Instituted 23 September 1833 by King Friedrich Wilhelm III. (1833 1870 issue). Constructed of silver, the obverse bearing a raised and leftward facing profile of King Friedrich Wilhelm III, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse bearing a central wreathed inscription of FR RETTUNG AUS GEFAHR (FOR RESCUE FROM DANGER), the obverse engraver and maker marked G. LOOS and C. PFEUFFER, measuring 50.
