Bolihua is a reverse glass painting technique practiced in China since the early 1700s. The painted image is applied by hand to the inside of a glass bulb through holes at the top and bottom using special narrow brushes and pointed sticks. The design detail is applied in layers over several days, so each ornament is absolutely unique. This one features a scene at
