Constructed of patinated cast zink, the obverse bearing central raised inscriptions of FR BESONDERE LEISTUNG (FOR OUTSTANDING MERIT) and DER KOMMANDIERENDE GENERAL UND BEFEHLSHABER IM LUFTGAU NORWEGEN (THE COMMANDING GENERAL AND SUPREME COMMANDER OF LUFTGAU NORWAY), topped by a raised Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a reindeer mounted by a rider, the reverse with a suspension clip,
