Germany, Federal Republic. A 1939 Iron Cross I Class, 1957 Version Hold in addition to near-total loss(Eisernes Kreuz 1939 I. Klasse Ausfhrung 1957). Constructed of iron and neusilber, consisting of a Cross Patte with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed neusilber frame, the obverse with three central oak leaves, the six oclock arm with a reinstitution date of 1939, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flattened and rounded catch, unmarked, measuring 42 mm (w) x 42 mm (h), an early 1957 version in extremely fine
