A Miniature Newfoundland Volunteer War Service Medal 1939-1945 Auction maker marked "30"In bronze, measuring 19. 3 mm in diameter, light surface wear evident in the reverse, original ribbon with push pin attachment, near extremely fine. Footnote: The Newfoundland Volunteer War Service Medal was designed by Ian H. Stewart CM (who was at that time Senior Designer in Residence at Memorial University in St John's, Newfoundland). It was created to honour those from Newfoundland & Labrador who served in British Forces outside of the province.
