A Shimane Badge Hold South Africa 1901 (7217 PTEA Japanese Shimane Badge Silver gilt and enamels, 34. 5 mm x 39. 5 mm, dual prong vertical pinback, intact enamels, light contact, near extremely fine. Footnote: This badge was issued in 1958 by the Shimane Prefecture Fire Brigade Association, to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the Self Governing Fire Brigade Law which was passed in 1948, to provide a legal framework for the post war Japanese fire brigade.
