Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a mobile swastika, overlaid by a Luftwaffe eagle clutching dual lightning bolts, the reverse with two visible rivets holding the obverse eagle in place, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked B. & N. L. for Berg & Nolte,
