Citrine Pendant - Sterling Silver - Oval Commonly found in India andPendant Length: 16mm Setting: Prong Citrine is a variety of quartz. It gets its name from the Latin word "citron". The color of citrine is not fully understood. Some citrine is colored from aluminum based centers and irradiation. This is similar to smoky quartz. More common, commercial grade citrine is often amethyst that has been heated to extreme temperatures, essentially baking it to the proper color. This is citrine by scientific standards.
