Constructed of silvered and patinated tombak, the obverse consisting of a circular chain link wreath, surrounding a central blockade breaker cutting through waves and breaching the chain, overlaid across the bow by a German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with a block hinge and banjo style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, designer marked OTTO PLACZEK, BERLIN and maker
