The picture shows a Heer soldier, possibly infantry, in the rank of Obergefreiter (Corporal), wearing the Iron Cross 2nd Class ribbon and a Wound Badge in Black. Judging from the background the picture was probably taken in southern Europe. On the reverse is has been dedicated on July 26, 1943 to my dear, faithful wife on her name day, from
