Even if other wineries have recently caught up in terms of quality, it remains the classic of this AOC. As early as 1932 the estate was classified as a Cru Bourgeois exceptionnel; if it had already existed when the Medocs classification in 1855 was made, a Cru Class rank would presumably have been achieved. Chasse Spleen ripens excellently and is not inferior to a Cru Class in this
