Instituted 18 October 1861 by King Wilhelm I. (1869 1916 issue). Constructed of Gold with silver and multi coloured enamels, consisting of a Cross Patte with a Gold frame and white enameled arms highlighting with gilt borders, the obverse bearing a central gilded silver medallion with a raised royal crown, within a ring of blue enamels bearing a gilt inscription of GOTT MIT UNS (GOD WITH US) and
