he joined the Luftwaffe with Flieger-Ersatz Abteilung 7 and attended Flight/Air Observer School in Cologne
unmarked but likely of French manufacture
to all who served in His Majesty's ships at the Battle of the Nile in August 1
A Luftwaffe Oberfeldwebel Pioneer Tunic 1940 GTRexclude Gilt with red and blueThe tunic is fabricated from a coarse dark gray wool. The shoulders are adorned with Oberfeldwebel (Flight Sergeant) shoulder straps, each strap incorporating a 9 mm wide strip of fine silvered wire threading, sewn in place via white threading upon a dark gray wool upper, the edges trimmed in black cord piping indicating the branch to be Pioneer, each strap with three silvered pips surrounding a silvered number "6", with a blackish gray wool
