Lava Flow P09387-P00061 "Catena 4" began with pouringA hybridization of the artist's "Cascade" and "Strata" series, this piece's exterior is composed of crimson, scarlet and maroon red glass chips and powders. Laid out on a steel plate prior to blowing, the pattern is fused to the surface of the glass when blown. The horizontal band is a hot wrap of yellow and orange glass chips applied to the surface of the piece. The artist engraves the piece, carving a vertical pass that reveals a yellow interior.
